1. Where can I park?
There are several public parking lots in Sidney.

2. How long is the ferry ride?
The ferry ride is approximately 25 minutes long.
3. Is there a washroom on the ferry?
There are no washrooms on the ferry.
4. Where is the closest public washroom?
There are washrooms at Port Sidney Marina and at the end of Beacon Ave at Sidney Pier.

5. Where does the ferry leave from?
The Sidney Spit Ferry departs from Port Sidney Marina. 9835 Seaport Place, Sidney, BC

6. Can I bring my dog?
Yes, your dogs are welcomed on the ferry as long as you keep your fur babies on a leash. Dogs must be leashed while on Sidney Island as well.
7. Is there running water on Sidney Island?
No, there is no running water on the island. You must bring all the necessary water for your trip.
8. Can I just show up without a reservation or do I need to reserve a space?
You can purchase or reserve tickets for the ferry ride at any time. If you are purchasing a ticket on the same day as your trip we recommend you arrive 30 minutes before departure to purchase your ticket.
We recommend that you reserve a spot ahead of your departure date if you are travelling on a weekend.
9. Do I need a return ticket? Do I reserve a return boat back?
Yes, you need a return ticket to get back from Sidney Island. When you book your ticket over, you will be directed to book your return trip.
IF YOU DO NOT BOOK A RETURN TRIP AND THE RETURN DEPARTURES ARE FULL YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING A WAY OFF THE ISLAND.
10. Can I bring my bike?
No, Parks Canada does not allow bikes on Sidney Spit. If you need to lock your bike up, there is a bike rack near our dock.
11. What is the age of children and seniors tickets?
Tickets for children (13 or under) and seniors (65+) are $21 per person, plus tax.
12. Do I have to buy a ticket for my baby or toddler?
Children under the age of 3 are free of charge but you must get them a ticket. If you purchase your ticket online please chose Child (Under 3 years). They will be on the ship manifest but you will not be charged.
13. What is there to do on Sidney Spit?
There are many lovely things to do on Sidney Island such as camping, walking along the sandy beach, sunbathing, going on a hike to the outlook, or spending time with the family & friends!
14. How do I reserve a campsite on Sidney Island?
You can book your campsite through the Parks Canada camping website.

15. Can I bring a kayak, paddle board or canoe on the ferry?
Inflatable SUPS and Kayaks can be brought on board uninflated but unfortunately we are not able to transport inflated or full sized items over to the island.
